Windmill
I had the timber in the workshop for over five years that would bcome the heart of Windmill. That dense heavy as a rock fiddle back with green and pink tones. I wasn't sure what to do with it at first so it would just have to sit there till it came to me.
After seeing Casey Chambers and Shane Nicolson play... RES... it had to be a resonator. Deep and bright timbers to work off the spun metal cone. I really liked that raspy steel sound, and I could see that the body made all of hardwood was going to be a game changer.
The concept for the inlay work wasn't hard to capture in my mind at least. A counrty cross city feel to a guitar that would cross barriers between the Blue's and Country. City Tattoo for the sound hole on the front, and a Sounthern Cross windmill inlaid into the back.
Windmill has s dirty hidden secret under that metal sound cone that only comers out when you treat it right. It comes out to play and shakes your tree. Check it out on our You Tube link and get a grasp of what I mean.
